Product information
Spierb Shikakai Powder is Acacia concinna fruit pods, dried, finely ground and triple sifted: Acacia Concinna Fruit Powder (100%) and nothing else. Mixed with comfortably warm water it makes a thin, pourable wash. The saponins in the pods are surface-active in water, so the wash lifts ordinary oil and residue even though it foams far less than a bottled shampoo.
It suits you if you want a gentler botanical wash, mixed fresh, and hair that combs easily afterwards. It isn't for you if you want a big lather or a two-minute shower: the powder needs 5–10 minutes to hydrate. If your hair is dry, bleached or porous, use a thinner wash at the scalp and condition the lengths.
- One ingredient. Acacia Concinna Fruit Powder (100%), with no added surfactants, conditioners, oils, fragrance or preservatives.
- Measured by hair length. 10–15 g for short hair, 20–25 g for shoulder-length, about 30 g or more for very long or thick hair.
- Short and simple. Hydrate 5–10 minutes, massage 60–90 seconds, leave 3–5 minutes, then rinse until no grit remains.
- Up to twice a week, on its own or blended 1 tablespoon each with Spierb Aritha for a stronger cleanse or Spierb Amla for the care side.
- Sourced from India. Keeps for 2 years from the date of packaging.
