FAQ's - Amla Powder

What does Amla Powder do for hair and scalp?

Amla (Indian gooseberry) helps add natural volume, shine, and a light “root-lift.” It balances an oily or flaky scalp without harsh surfactants. Many people also notice better curl retention and reduced frizz.

Will Amla affect hair colour (including henna/indigo or dyed/bleached hair)?

On its own, amla doesn’t colour hair; with regular use it can gently cool warm tones. In henna mixes, it softens bright copper/orange; with indigo it can nudge browns a bit ashier. It will not lighten hair or provide grey coverage. It’s generally fine on dyed or bleached hair, but very porous hair can feel slightly astringent—do a quick strand test and avoid applying right after a chemical service.

What can I pair Amla with, and why?

  • For a softer cleanse, pair Amla + Shikakai
  • For slip and moisture, add Aloe or Fenugreek
  • For strength/scalp support, try Bhringraj or Brahmi
  • To bulk a neutral mask, add Cassia
  • Start simple (10–30% amla in your blend), adjust by hair feel, and avoid over-acidifying mixes

Why is your Amla powder not edible?

Spierb Amla powder is cosmetic-grade, intended for external use on hair/skin only. It isn’t processed or tested to food standards—facilities and labeling follow cosmetic rules, not food laws. If you want to ingest amla, choose a clearly marked food-grade product from a food-certified supplier.
